In October 2009 my wife bought me a Ukulele for my birthday on the off chance that it might interest me. I don't think she realised just what she had set in motion until it was too late! ...
I immediately fell in love with the instrument and proceeded to spend all my available spare time learning how to play it.
It struck me that though there are many places on the internet where you can get all sorts of amazingly good tutorials (particularly on YouTube) there are very few that cater for someone who has never played the Uke, or for that matter any other instrument, at all.
So I decided to produce a series of Ukulele tutorials that an absolute beginner can use to learn how to get a tune out of the thing!

Here's a few things to try out which I found invaluable when I first started:
(1) - A CHORD CHART (click on the highlighted text to go to the chord chart)
(2) - A NOTES CHART(ie a chart to show which note a string will sound when pressed at a certain fret)(click on the highlighted text to go to the notes chart)
(3) - A TUNER(click on the highlighted text to go to an online tuner - please note that as this is an external website you will need to use your browsers back button to return here) Ideally get a clip on tuner from a Music Store or look for one on Ebay,
you can get one for under £5
(4) - Some EASY SONGS to play (click on the highlighted text to go to the easy songs)
